Using a Windows Mobile phone as a GPS tracker

As mentioned earlier, I recently upgraded from a Windows Mobile 6.1 HTC Diamond to an Android-powered HTC Desire. Aside from the dated OS/UI on the Diamond, it’s still a really capable gadget so I use it as a spare phone for the car. Given its new permanent home and the fact it has internal GPS, it seemed to me that it lends itself well to becoming a tracking device that could report its location in the event that the car is stolen.
